I picked up a ton of custom paint at a local auto paint store cost about $80, this included:-
Epoxy primer
Base color
Candy
Clear coat.

So I painted my ski for under $100 and I have a bunch of other colors to do my new ski next year.

Just make sure teh gun has a good tip.. You want one wiht about 8 or more pin holes surrounding the needle where teh paint would come out of. 1.3-1.4mm should surfice on the tip size.

they quoted me 500 -650 for doing one solid color on my blaster. with me sanding. and prep. im sure you could get a sj done for 500.00 it its ready. my gsxr 750 cost me 600 to paint but i didnt sand or prep just drop off and pick up.

I painted mine in the shop but we have a full finish shop. My bud did his in the yard with a cheap arse gun and compressor and did a great job.
The Clear coat is the hardest for me to put on, I spray a light tack coat first then I hit it. Leave the tack coat a for a few mins before giving it a good coat. Remember stickers do a good job covering the runs.

:scared: I have lots of stickers! :scared:

i used 1 quart of primer that was barely enough for just the hull, so if you have a pole and hood to do also you would need 2 quarts, if your body is in real good shape, you can just skip the primer and sand it and prep it, use a wax and grease remover then just seal it and paint. the primer cost me 40 bucks with the catylist, then i used 1 quart of paint, and it was barely enough also, i would recomend at least a quart and a pint, or 2 quarts of paint for a whole ski, the paint ran 70 bucks with reducer for the quart of each, the the clear was plenty enough, it cost 70 for the quart of clear pint of harnder, and quart of reducer.
i got most of the paint from autobody depot also. they also sell alot of there stuff on ebay.

thought this might be usefull for this thread.

Last year I stripped and sanded my blaster and took it to Mayco.
$125 yamaha blue. It was an ok job. I've stripped it again this winter and I'm having a friend paint it for a little more custom work.
