Mine, Shane's, Shane's wifes, Gregg's ski, and my boat are all painted by me with a relatively cheap single stage automotive paint. With the exception of Gregg's bottom deck (I didn't do the prep work so not sure what happened there), they've all held up great and still look great. I have masked off the turf before but there is a chance that a little bit of mist will sneak past the tape because the turf isn't flat. It can be sanded off the turf by hand if you're really anal about it but it usually isn't very noticeable so I don't worry about it.
I'd charge you a little bit plus paint to prep and spray your ski but it wouldn't be anything like what a shop would charge. Just an FYI...
