looks like some really tough popcorn got ahold of it.......... I told you 4 minutes or until it quiets popping......... not 20 minutes until rock hard.

The other dome and piston are ok and the other dome feels like its been a little sand blasted. The cylinder needs to be bored and a new set of pistons.

The crank seems to be ok even the rod end but what concerns me is all the fine metal shavings that were in the case and on the crank, not sure what to do about that yet.

I had piston grenade like that years ago ( wsm piston crumbled like a cookie)

ALL that mess in the crank, I removed it from the cases, and spent about 2 hours with brake cleaner, spraying out each bearing on the crank,

then soaked in 2stroke oil, and reinstalled it, ran it for another 2 seasons without any issues.

maybe you will be OK.

but also water worx has great prices on hot rods cranks...

bummer,

happen to know why it let go? High rev? land start? hard landing? bad luck?

This ported motor was 3 years old and had a life in a freestyle ski so I think it was a combination of old age and use, I can't complain about its service one bit it has been a very good motor.

I have sent Chuck (supertune) a pm to see about fixing things up.

p

best to take it all the way down and really clean it up...........

It has been completely disassembled I have the cylinder ready to send out to someone and the crank is also ready to send out if need be. The case and cylinder have already been given a simple green bath that it throughly enjoyed and its looking forward to its bore and new pistons. :burnout:

o

why not have a local machine shop bore it for you.

I would like a pro to do it and match it to the pistons. Yes I am sure just about any one can do it, heck I can even have it done in our plant but just feel better having one of our fellow engine builders do the work.

Spread the wealth.
