And no I didnt hurt myself.

It looks like everyones on Superjets. What makes this machine so superior to the SXR?

I've pretty much desided that I'm gonna ditch the JS and the polaris and get a New/Newer stand up. I like the Octane, but parts for it are pretty hard to come by so I'd like something with better parts availability.

I really dont want a pissing match over mines better than yours. just the pros and cons of each.

Thanx.

before being a smart ass try a search. It's up top.

:haha:

cant help it, it's my nature..

seriously though. I DID do a few searches. They yielded zilch on the info or comparisons I'm looking for. But, what I've read is that the Kawi is more powerful, and has better handling. I'm just wanting to compare the two before I make a choice.

Boris- so Kawi doesnt have good parts availibility?

SJ = lighter/smaller, better for tricks
SXR = bigger/heavier, better for hookup, as in on a race course, but does well in the surf too

OMG...you did a search on SJ and SXR comparison and it yielded zero results? Are you sure it wasn't just still loading the 10 bazillion threads in the search results window?

well maybe my wording wasnt what it should/could have been. I seached SXR SJ comparison and variations of the same.

I think it has a little to do with the site you are searching on. This is for the most part a freeride forum. Hence, the SJ seems to be the majority of the posts here. Probably only a handful of people here with SXR's. You certainly don't see too many SJ's on a starting line of a race these days, at least at the pro level. All depends on what riding you do most, then get the ski that best fits.

I wont be racing. I want a solid tough ski that I can act like a hooligan on. but I dont wanna have to work on it ever other weekend either. I also want it to handle well too. am I asking too much?

^^^You want the perfect ski. That will costyou 20K+. SJ's handle good, and are perfect for freestyle even with the stock hull+ hood, all you need is a B-pipe, impeller, flame arrestors, jets, and a good high comp. head. A skilled rider can still rail bouys and be fast on a race course, It just takes more skill and energy to do it on a SJ.

I think anyone with time on a SJ and a SXR will be faster on the bouys with the SXR.

The problem with the SXR is that they are heavy! 60lbs heavier then a SJ. The only way to make one light is buy buying a aftermarket hull+hood. More than likely that will be out of your budget.

If you want to go fast, and take some realy realy realy fast corners get the sxr. hehe

If you want to freeride/freestyle get the SJ.

I'm saying that there are a ton of parts made for the SXP but look at the "for sale" section.
There is a lot of parts for SJ's available with many parts changing hands at reasonable prices.

To me "available" means more than just parts being produced.
When you brake down at your local surf spot I'm sure there will be someone with a SJ and more than likely will have some parts to spare.

The opposite is true at the races.

come on guys. a search???? really now! its a new site. how many threads on x-h2o deal with the differences of sxrs and sjs?

it seems like a legit question. maybe he'll find more info if he searched www.pwctoday.com:rolleyes:

........and i get blamed for being the arsehole here.
:haha:

looks like the lighter weight of the SJ also gets you a lighter wallet.

just how BIG of a difference is there between the two. although I guess it doesnt matter cuz I want a freeride ski.

You already just answered your own question, GET A SUPERJET.

Sxrs are good for everything but freestyle. Don't even give the surf excuse, even an xp can be good in the surf!!!!!!
