Odd no-spark issue/ sparks once only

'89 X2 all stock. When I hit the start button I get one nice bright spark on each plug, then nothing. Cranks and cranks, no start/ no spark. It wont spark again until I break the connection between the plug and the head, then try again. Then I get 1 spark from each plug then nothing. Ideas?

Looks like it is the stop switch. I disconnected the switch and it had all kindsa spark. Hooked it back up and it seems to work. I'm wondering if maybe its a bad/broken wire in there or something.
