What's up guys, motor is a 96, 701
The Yamaha shop manual only gives ohm readings for electrical components. I suspect the ignition coil. Primary coil reads 3.4 ohm and calls for 0.078-0.106, and the secondary coil reads 0.3 k-ohms and calls for 3.5-4.7 k-ohms. Actually, none of the CDI and stator ohm readings were exactly as the manual but they all gave me some kind of volts output except the secondary coil. I got 12v DC going to the primary coil (orange/black) every revolution but nothing out of the secondary coil. (Spark plug wires).
Have any of you guys done an output test so I know what range of AC volts the charging coil and the pulse coil give, and what DC volts comes out of the CDI to the ignition coil?

PS. rode it for an hour. Parked at an island for a short time and no start after that. Towed in.
