i just replaced a bad solenoid and made sure it cranked before i put it back together, tested it once i had about 4 screws in so i dident have to go though this and it cranked again, now i put it all the way back together and now no cranking when i hit the start button...

Disconnect the start switch (white plug) and short the two pins together on the ebox side.
If it cranks, your problem is in the switch or the plug connection.
If it doesn't, time to open the ebox again. You may have pinched a wire or disconnected one.

now that i grounded the box i went to start it did first crank shut it off kept messing with it, then cranked it again to make sure, but this time it wouldent stop... i pulled the plug boots off to stop it, then i tryied it again to see if it would shut off when i pulled the lanyard off, nothing
so i was thinking bad ground to the switch? but it worked the first time i tryed it it turned off with the switch, maybe too hot plugs? it has 8s in it but ive heard other people usen 9s and if im not mistaken 8 is hotter then 9

Bad ground to the switch would make it not work at all. Sounds like the relay is sticking. Time to replace it.

Try disconnecting the switch and shorting the pins inside the connector.
If it still acts up, the relay has a problem (maybe)

so jump it across the bolts on the solenoid? ive done that works fine with it, what # plugs should i use, my brother read we should try 8s in my x2 and we tryied it and it did the same thing so we went back to 9s and it worked fine

No.

Disconnect the start switch (white plug outside the ebox).
Now short the two contacts inside the white plug (ebox side) together with needle nose pliers or something similar.

i opened the plug like you said matt and it was corroded inside it, so i cut it on both sides soldered them together and heat shrank over them, the 1 over both, works sweet now
