300/440/550 Newer Mikuni Carb Needed for Kawi 550

After all my research today, it appears that myolder style carb pictured has a 3 adjustment screws,
The jet needle pilot adjustment screw which Mikuni did away with in the early 90's, and a low speed and high speed needle jet adjustment screw,
the newer SBN44 carbs just have the 2 adjustment screws and the square pump instead of the round one, thus more fuel pressure, and better design,

I am now in the market for a newer that 87 mukuni SBN-44 carb,

The jets on the one I have were way off, the low speed jet was 3 turns out the highs were turns out and the middle or pilot jet wasent to bad at 1 complete turn out,
Until I get an updated carb, does anyone know the correct needle adjustments from the factory???

start around 1 for L, 1 for pilot and 1.5 for high...test...readjust...test...etc

An SBN will be a great carb on the 550.

Thanks, I checked last night and the low was set at 3-1/4 the mid was 1 and the high was at 2 turns,
the problem is the ski had a hard time idleing,
Is this exhaust from orange county jet ski worth putting on?

You will need either intake spacers or a different intake to mount an SBN on a 550 engine.

That is what I have been reading, some say it isin't worth fooling with, some say yes,

dump the BN And replace with SBN ...best advise & money invested
