Super Jet New UMI bars are wider than before

So my new UMI handlebars are 27.5" across while my other sets are all 25.5" across.

What gives? Can I just cut these things down?

ATP's freestyle bars are wider as well. I like em but they are easy enough to cut if you don't.

ScottS has had them on his skis for years. It took me a while to figure out what was different about his ski and once I figured it out, I had to have a set for mine.
