New leftover 17 superjet

This may be a dumb question, but my last ski was a 2001 superjet and I cut 3.5" from the pole and it was perfect. Any changes to the pole length on a 17? Just looking to do some mods before I even get in the water up here in WA state, while it's cold.

2017 is the same as 2008 and later, the handpole is 2" shorter than your 2001 (and all other 1996-2007 models).

Your time would be spent better converting that legacy handle pole for a pre 08 steering cable, then adding a -1" steering plate to a UMI system and now you'd be within 1/2" of what you're used to.

Or buy a ovp steering system, like Overall OVP, and your shorten up the pole by a couple inches.
