:Banane01: Is the euro measure for HP called "CV"? If so this thing has 180 of it.
CV as french is chevaux vapeur as translated as horse for chevaux and steam power for vapeur. H/P is calculated the same way as US mesure same for torque.
this kaw motor looks like a 4 cyl.

WTF? Is it me or is that thing horizontally mounted? Wonder how much weight it adds.
Garrett

Yep, there's a right angle drive, probably with a gear reduction to allow more RPM.

Dual exhausts too! It'd be a nice river boat for the tight twisties.....

The article is talking about how with Polaris leaving the market there was really no drive to introduce a new ski and 'water motors' went quiet for a while. Then hydrospace came out with there new ski last year. And that kawasaki filed patents in the US last year. However, the technical data was not given, but they think that kawi has some large surprises.

Re-Evolution.

The first thing is that it has a pump that, until now, has never been utilized in watercraft before. And a revolutionary V motor, placed in a transverse position, possible because of how greatly compact the motor is. We have studied the drawings, and we think that with this motor it is very centered in the hull/bilge.

There is no doubt that there is physical space left to augment the original with a turbo and intercooler, to the same that austrian hydrospace has. With all this, there is no doubt that in comparison with the 163 hp motor of the two cylinder 750cc Hydrospace, of the austrians; ( after weve done a rapid calculation) we think the japanese engineers will produce at least 180 hp with this new kawasaki product. It is sure that the engineers of yamaha, they have told us that they have already prepaired the SJ 4T, they wont delay to react, and theyll remove it from the light. Were adventuring in new times with the jetski, the era of the 4T.

BAH!! You guys had better be greatfull...that wasnt easy.

And I thought I was tired of lifting my current SXR. I better start bulking up, these things are getting heavy!
