Over the last couple of years I've been playing with different impellers on my ski and wanted a consistent way to measure and adjust them. There is the one from beerdart in the tech section but the trailing edge angles are too high for the standup crowd. You could get the specific models from Watcon but the cost might be prohibitive. Attached is my attempt at an alternative.
Features:
- Leading edge angles from 5-15
- Trailing edge angles from 12-20
- Printable on a single 8.5"x11" sheet
- Leading edge and trailing edge measurements are inverted so the bottom edge is always true
- Angle lines are alternated red/black for easier identification
- Center dashed line cut strip
Directions:
Impatient:
- Print on regular paper at 105% size
- Cut on dashed line in center
- Keep flat uncut edges down, tape together just bigger than impeller on a flat surface
- Test
- Adjust and share results to the X
Anyone not impatient and results oriented:
- Purchase some transparency film for your printer
- While waiting for arrival do test prints on regular paper to determine best offset and scaling sizes for your impeller (103-110%)
- Print determined size on transparency film
- Cut on dashed line in center
- Keep flat uncut edges down, tape together just bigger than impeller on a flat surface
- Test
- Adjust and share results to the X
Long term minded:
- Purchase sticker project paper from local store/amazon
- Source 145mm (or size of choice) clear plastic ring
- Make multiple test prints on regular paper to determine scaling between 103-110%
- Print
- Attach to ring
- Test
- Adjust and share results to the X
- Enjoy for generations
