JUST READ WHATS BOLD TO HELP ME OUT IF YOU DONT HAVE TIME TO READ THE WHOLE STORY THANKS!
so first time i rode anything was in 2006 in bermuda have no idea but it was sit down. and alot of fun so 2 or 3 weeks ago i picked up 87 550sx w/ race kit? idk and 89 650sx and 96 gtx w/ trailer all for $1500 all "run mint"... what a deal! and of coarse i tell the guy im into power sports been dirtbiking and 4 wheeling all my life and have a passion for anything with a motor (but im also no motor head but no how to hold a wrench and follow direction) so he's like well then dont start with this 550 to much power blah blah blah. little did he know they were all going out at the same time. so i put new batterys in all of them installed lanyard on 550 and new wires on the 650. all do run mint out of water and 650 and gtx run mint in water. 550 ran but had no top end speed but wasnt like choking. if i compared it to a dirtbike almost like it wouldnt go into powerban. so we rode for like 2 hours cause the guy said it had to be hot to run right well it never did. i gotta assume carb problems. then it died and now when you try and crank it over its almost like its a dead battery hardly cranking over but its not cause if it was dead or almost dead it would stop cranking over eventually but it keeps going. and it wont start. but thats cause at the same time it's cranking over so slowly im assuming theres no much spark. so i havent gotten into it much and idk what modifications have been done to it but i realy need a place to start looking im gonna bring my meter next time to figure out if the correct voltage is coming out of the battery cause if a plate breaks is it possible volt will drop? also we noticed that one of the wires is very corroded on the starter. havent had a chance to fix this yet but just wondering what other possibilities that it could be are thanks!!
