Stable for rough water chop and a decent race boat if you've got skill, but it is hard to turn due to the flat bottom hull design(even harder than a superjet).

I would get one if they were cheaper as a second boat, but till that point, Ill keep riding my superjet.

ya that was my thought too. to have as a auxilary but dang the few i have seen for sale are the price of a brand new sj... cant see spending that on something i dont necesarily need when i got my SJ alread

My gf took it after I got a SJ from Taylor. I wanna do tricks and the Octane was a little big for me.

The machine was too big for you, so now your girlfriend is riding it?

Do I read that correctly?

Why do you tell people these things? It's probably best you lie.

I've ridden RMBC's Octane in the surf at Pismo.

While it was far from a stock Octane, I really liked it. Much more so than an SXR I tried.

I've seen lots of 'em. They make good freeride platforms. A little heavy for flatwater tricks. A little not-so-turnable for racing. But I like mine. Only thing I would do to it now would be to ad more off-idle snap. Crank and flywheel are too heavy.

She likes it b/c it is very stable. She is not looking to do freestyle like I am, so that ski is just right for her. I am trying to get her to race it, now that she is getting better on it.

I hear T/L works wonders on them. I think they would make an awesome surf boat if you upgraded to T/L as the OEM electrics seem really volnerable to saltwater (even more so than T/L.

Thanks, Funny thing is I found out it was taking on water... one-way was stuck open. Now it runs even better!!!

I've seen an Octane... or two... In my garage :sneaky:. Seems one of them will not have either of those problems you mention... but how???? :09: hmmm?

Working on that.... got a T/L setup for each one... one of them will hopefully be up and running by the weekend! :fingersx:

No luck on the aluminum flywheel, eh? I'm not a big fan for rec-riding with TL.
