300/440/550 Need kawi 650 X2 electrical help!!

Alright here is my dilemma...I am putting in a 92 650 motor into my 89 X2. The wires on the stator for the 92 are 2 brown, 1 purple and 1 black/yellow. However, where they need to connect to I have 2 black and 2 yellow. There is also a single black/red wire in there that I have no idea where it goes. Any ideas?? Please help. Thanks!

hey man i had this same problem. I just changed out the stators though. Id like to know if someone has a color to color for this also to save a headache next time:biggthumpup:

The two brown wires are the charging coils,the black yellow is a ground and the purple is the source coil.On the other one the two yellow wires are from the charging coil,the two black wires are grounds and they black/red wire is the source coil,that stator has an extra black ground wire,just ground it to the electrical box.So you will hook it up brown to yellow,black to black/yellow and purple to black red and ground the last black wire.
