NEED info on the pwc ZONE is daytona

We have a guy speaking to the lifeguard service and City here about getting a zone setup,We also have a lawyer that rides willing to set it up

I need some contact #s for the best person to talk to in the lifesaving dept there, and the lawyers name and # that set it up there.
Is there a list of rules and regs anywhere online about it?

the more back we have the better, there is a zone setup in jersey somewhere also, makes me wonder how many there are on the east coast

yup, there is a website I believe (sorry, it escapes me!)... tells you what current zone is etc... and rules maybe? May want to PM Nick for some possible contacts to help get you going.

Passes are sold at any personal watercraft zone.

Annual resident pass: $100 (calendar year)
Annual visitor pass: $125 (calendar year)
Monthly pass: $25 (30 consecutive days)

I could live with that!:cheer:

no luck with nick, already pmed him twice

Moondance, thanks for that info that will come in handy, anyone else know the lawyers name and # that set it up. thats the guy i really need to talk too

Keep it on the down low

You guys dont need to advertise our ride spot on the web so all the couch riders will start riding there. If you need info talk to Nick but please stop posting the info on the website.

Moondance

Just plain me....

Well guess what....it's public knowledge. And anyone with internet access can do a search & find it. Sorry to rain on your parade, but last time I was in Daytona, it was still a public beach & not "your" riding spot.:bs2:

I tryed talking with him in pms,he didnt remember the lawyers contact info or #,Once I can find out that ill delete all my posts. wouldnt wana blow up yer spot,ya lucky -------------

dont worry about that bone head... .I'm from Daytona originally and all you have to do is drive down the beach and see the boundry signs, and you know whats up. and as someone else stated, it's not like it's a HUGE secret or anything.

sounds like the crap all the surfers used to pull in school to keep the goons off their waves.

Not a bone head

Just for a second imagine at the Daytona Freeride we had last year. Six guys on Sea Doo RX racing back and forth in the jet ski Zone at 50 to 60 miles per hour. How would the event have gone?? Probably not so well. I am not the owner of the beach although I live at the beach and can look at the ocean from my front yard. I am just trying to keep a really good thing for all free ride guys from becoming a race track for idiots on 900 pound boats. We always welcome all newcomers and enjoy thier company. We ride here every weekend and want to continue for a long time to come. If the irresponsible type of riders flock to the zone and make it unsafe the Daytona Beach Patrol would in all probability eventually close it down. So lets all just cool out on the negative comments, tone down the advertisements on the web about the zone and come and join us for a ride. I dont think thats unreasonable.

I dont think you have anything to worry about on this site starting an influx of RX owners at the zone. If anyone want's info about the zone here people should feel free to post it.

Oh Jesus....

Torr... Call Volusia County Beach Services. they have a webpage and would surely help you.... That page that is linked in this thread has all the emails you would need. When you call, ask for Joe Texture. He helped setup the zone on the beach patol side. Sorry, I have not got you the number... I'm a slacker

on the daytona ride zone:
I'm w/ Bill (Sdiddy) on this... Pease don't post too much about it, it will only make things worse on us if a lot of people show up. We had 5 couches at our break last weekend and that is the most I have ever seen... (not good) anyway, it's a free country and so on, but just don't hand feed people the info... PLease!!!!!

that's a bad thing??? We police our zone and yes we take it very seriously....

i have to agree on the ixnay on the entioningmay of the idingspotsray.

i hate it when im at a shop or a dealer and a customer who just bought a new couch asks an employee "hey, where can i go to ride this thing?", and the employee mentions one of MY spots. i had to lecture wcf steve about doing just that.

Thanks Nick,Id take it very seriously if we had one here to. Do you guys really get many couches launching from shore,it just seems that would be so much harder for them to do.when they do launch from shore do they hang out in the actuall riding zone,or just buzz off into the ocean? For the most part I mean?

I tend to think most places that have pwc zones are places that already allow driving on the beach,There is only one place here that has enough parking right next to the beach, that might allow carts to be used to launch skis from there. If we could get this appoved here,it would be REALLY hard to launch a couch from there.since they are the majority of skis,it makes me doubt they would pass it this way.
