My new Matrix does not have a bow eye to use the Stoltz style bow stop so I need to figure something else out for locking the front to the trailer. I am designing a 3 jug rack for the front of my trailer that will act as a bulkhead and incorporate a method for attaching the front of the skis as well as hold 3 fuel jugs and my Beach tote. I probably won't have room to incorporate winches either...I know you guys are creative and would like to hear some ideas.

I've added a stainless tow eye to the front of my 07 SJ so it will connect in the same way.

Here is the setup I have now...Both skis will be slid back approx 6 inches from where they sit in the pics.

I dont have any type of bow stop on my trailer for my SXRs either. Its a single trailer so I had to come up with something. I put eye holes to the frame on each side securing it straight down in the front and then a ratchet strap from the front of the bow aft to the center of the trailer to stop it from going forward. Then of course I have a strap holding it down in the back of the ski. The only hassle is it takes three straps to hold each down secure.

Overall I just throw the one strap from the bow to the eye hole in the front to drop and pull them out of the water.....so I get out the way of the ramp.

I did the same with my SXR for years because my couch trailer only had the one winch but since I got my new trailer setup with the stoltz, I got spoiled with simply sticking a pin in the front. I still have all my ratchet tie downs for the front that I run thru the eye and down to the front bunk brackets but since I'm building a new rack I figured i'd work this into the mix too if i could.

can you rig a stoltz bow stop horizontal instead of vertical?
Or, get a "V" type stop for the nose and ratchet strap through the loop?
