decided to make a rideplate.
got some cheap bondo polyester resin and mat from home depot. borrowed bretts stock plate and covered it with aluminum foil. layed out the mat and let it set. popped the mold and did a little sanding on the fresh mold surface. got out the major bumps and glossed the surface with west system epoxy.
let the mold set for a few days before using it. used some liquid car wax i just had and coated the mold. let it fully dry and started lying glass. 2layers nytex and 3 1/2 layers cloth. had a bit of carbon so i used it. next time i will use filler in the corners to stop air bubbles. after it went off i gently pried from all sides and got it seperated with no damage to the part or the mold.
i still need to make the pads and holes for bolting it down.
