How bad is the bottom end going to be with this motor? And how does it compare to stock SXR porting?

Bad bottom end with a 192 degree exhaust port, unless you run tons of compression and a MSD -TL with about 30 degrees of timing and a fairly loose/Big nozzle with a short prop! Slightly better for bottom end than a SX-R.

Hey Chuck, I have another stock ported sx cylinder on hand, want to do me up a big bore setup and port it for next season? Im too late and $$ into this one to change right now, but perhaps over the winter. J

Hey crabman!

Didn't you purchase this setup special order? What went wrong?

With the OEM cylinder, one of your options is to see about having one of the sleeve shops resleeve them for you - that's what I did (and you saw the smile on my face). I think you can even order your port specs right then and there...

I gave the info I had at the time and LPW told me all in all I should like it. Ras racing also told me a similar story, so we will just wait and see when its in. I do have another cylinder on hand and was thinking big bore for next year, we will see. If its no worse than a stock SXR, it will be fine for this season.

Did you measure the ports on the OEM cylinder for comparison? I wonder what the stock SXR cylinder looks like as well (if it's possible to compare the 750 cyl to the 800 cyl).

Let's get that engine assembled and tested! I want to see how much more fun we can have with that X2...:woot:

Its all together now, I just bolted on the intake as well. Need some exhaust gaskets and an engine coupler still, paint the bed plate, swap flywheel-bendix-and stator, and throw it in. It should be almost like a stock SXR now. Im only about 30cc from SXR bore, and it should be similar porting less the boost port in the pistons.
