my frist leg gina

i was playing at the lake today and went to do a thro but kinda stuffed it up and slamed my shin into the side rail on my x2 . got a nice wee gash out off it ,it took 3 internal stiches and 8 external to fix it up and now more playing on the ski for a week or so . how long do you normally leave things like this to heal before you can head out again . its summer here in nz and we are getting nice 30 deg c days at the mo, i dont wont to miss to much fun

I would wait at least 2 weeks before hitting the water again. You don't want to get it wet for prolonged periods b/c the wound may re-open. In that case the probablity of it scaring goes up exponentially. I the down time turfing the rails may help.

im about to start doing my spare x2 hull up to use next week and turfing the rails right the way round was one off the things on the list to do. well i think it going to be real high up on the list now as well as some foot straps i dont really wot to do this again in a hurry and miss out on rideing time . but on the up side it will give me some time to work on my skis and get them sorted ready for a couple off weeks

i was back in the water with plastic wrap a day after..... of course a week later i had to go to the hospital and have them cut it open and drain the staff infection out of it........i think it was still worth it
