Well I just wanted to say hew, I have been lurking for a few months, and I normally post on the PWCT, so I am here now and stuck in this money pit. I have been playing with my 1990 550sx for a few month now, and hopefully soon it will be running perfect. I have been fighting this old 44BN, and Laserman hooked me up with a 44SBN, so I will hopefully playing in the water this weekend. but so far I have done..............

Re turffed and added lifter wedges
Bulldog nose brace
bilge pump
4 degree bars
ocean pro ride plate
west coast intake grate
jetline 16 SS impeller
PJS intake manifold
RD F/A
L&S exhaust manifold
Kerker Pipe
Removed the fuel selector
Added Primer
A modified mariner spring with the factory spring.

I have to put on now a new subplate and quick steer system with 0 degree bars and the SBN this week.

here are the pics of when I got it......

thanks everyone, 550, I will take any advice I cant get, so far a 100-115 low and 120-130 high range was suggested with a 102.5 low and 120 high start.

Yeah, my fire extinguisher cap was hard too! put a little vaseline on the gasket and it will be good to go.

I dont have any foot holds, they are lifter wedges that I made myself out of some B stock, and screws, I will post the pics. But all the turf was from one sheet of hydro turf that I cut the snot out of and took a few hours to do, but its done

I see that you turfed the rails and was wondering how well it turned out. I would like to do mine but am not sure how to do it exactly. I have searched and did not find anything too clear. How did you go about doing it. Also was the b stock turf ok or was it too badly beat up.

Thanks,

Thanks for looking for me, you can use the turf anytime.

Turfing the rails was easy, just make it wider than you need, the ruff up the paint with some sandpaper, then use the contact cement and apply it to the turf and rails, after 15-20 min, put the turf on the top, then use a heat gun or hair dryer and work slowly and use it to help bend it over the sides. Then I used a rubber mallet and beat it on. With the execss that's over hanging, I took a razor blade and heated it up with a lighter, and cut it off at a 45 degree and that's it!

well foot holds are when you chop into the hull, and your whole foot its inside, the lifter wedges are very old school, and are just a small extension for your foot to hold into.

Well today I finally got my sub plate, and new bars in, and they look and feel so nice! I also took a pick of my double spring too!

Good looking ski how's that double spring feel? I got an Alum. Pole For my 550 was super light with one spring. Anyway's tore my 550 apart to re-do the bottom and it's time for new paint job anyway's. I felt like i was back in the late 80's early 90's with the paint it had on it. LMAO Have fun with that ski

I duno, I am doing a good job beating it up! and I just put a sweet bandaid decal over a huge paint chip on the front. I think maybe next year I may paint the bottom black since its taken the most abuse
