Yesterday i bought a MSD TL ignition setup, in a nylon RRP MSD box from MX100 factory - second hand.
It was a system without flywheel and trigger plates/pickups. But i was perfect for a spare setup for me.
I made an offer, MX100 made a counteroffer wich i accepted. Paypal'ed the agreed amount and was promised the box would ship out same day (thursday 27 july 2016)
The day after, friday 28th i asked for a tracking nr on the package, and i got an answer back like this:
I sorry i checked with my mechanic and this MSD unit is with a speciel wire for a polaris engine setup. So i would not sell this to you, as it would not work for you. I will send your money back.
I replied that im not new to MSD TL, so i know there is only "one" brain for the newer system, but anyway send me the part nr of the Brain in the box, and i still want the setup that i paid for. I also asked if it were an excuse for another guy making a better offer.
Then the cat was out of the back, and it was another guy buying a second hand Polaris short block who wanted to buy the MSD setup - that i just bought.
In my humble opinion i think its pretty bad business policy, to sell a product to another guy - after selling and receiving payment for it. But that might just be me.
im pretty bummed out, hoped to get a spare MSD setup and didn't expect a "big" company like that to pull a stunt like that off.
So now im waiting to get the money back, while i still prefer to get the MSD that we agreed on and i paid for.
