MX Knee Brace

Hey guys, anyone have any experience using the Vision knee braces meant for MX in water? How do they hold up? The wraps, sleeves and tapes don't hold up in the water well enough for me and either stretch and fall off or come apart.

After my first knee surgery I used an asterisk cell brace for awhile. After the second surgery I used my CTI brace a couple times.
Rinse them with fresh water and let them dry when you are done for the day.

I used to where knee braces for snocross, actually I used the evs visions... I havent used them in water. But I imagine they would hold up ok, or at least as good as they do out of water. The knee cup on mine started falling off after a few years... But that was with a ton of abuse. I think if you grease the metal joints or dry them very well, you will have no problems.

After breaking my femur right where the knee brace stopped... And realizing that a doc can fix a knee way better than a femur I just use KT tape and knee pads.

Have you tried KT tape? It stays on well in water for me, but it won't stop a hyperextension..

There are lots of knee injuries in wakeboarding. I have ridden with people who had past injuries and road with a brace. It was the style with metal on both side and a hinge at the joint. Perhaps you could do research on wakeboarding injuries and troll some wakeboard forums and let us know what you find out.

I rarely get knee pain, but have also found standard knee braces to not stay in place. However, i did find that switching from wrestling shoes to a sneaker provides a lot more arch and lateral support, which was beneficial for my back and everything else. I have also found that my knee pain is often due to compensating for my back, so if you do not have a diagnosed knee injury, you may want to be assessed to ensure ypu are not having referred pain or pain from compensation.

Thanks for the info. I have a 6mm Patellar Tendon Tear in the left knee. Just spoke with my surgeon last week and he said I'm out of conservative options. He wrote up the surgery and is waiting on me to make the decision.

Essentially they make an 8 inch incision in the front of my knee, detach my patellar tendon and clean up the bad tissue then reattach to my knee cap. Looks like I'm looking at 6 months for a solid recovery. I haven't pulled the trigger yet but my wife is suggesting I do it now before we have kids.

Not super thrilled....
