modifying intake grate with Dremel

To help further reduce some cavitation I thought it might be a good idea to take my dremel to the intake grate and smooth things out a bit. My question is has anyone tinkered with this with much success? I was thinking of making the the leading edges on the bars rounded and the trailing edges sharper (like a teardrop or plane wing if cross-sectioned). I have an ocean pro top loader and in stock form it's really squared (not the best shape for smooth flow).. thoughts??
