650/X-2 mikuni 44 sbn carb, which manifold?

so i have an 87 x-2 and i got a 44 sbn carb today and dude i got it from said it wouldnt bolt up to the stock intake manifold. is that right? if not what intake do i need? and i am planning on putting a westcoast head with 23cc domes and a westcoast pipe. any tips on carb jetting/tuning? thanks for the help gentlemen!

Those domes are too small, and you will need an aftermarket manifold.

i use a westcoast intake for my 44 sbn on my 650sx. I just ran the carb for the first time this weekend and i started with a 120 low and 150 high for the jets. It ran pretty well, i need to go back and see how many turns the needles are out and then adjust the jets again. i also have a 2.0n/s and 95gram spring on (I have around 148 psi in each cylinder)

I have a R&D 750 kawi manifold and everything bolts right up.

Thanks for the carb tuning tips. Just need to find new domes for my head now. Any idea where to find those at?
