Midshaft screws

RN midshaft... A couple questions:
1) is there any reason not to use socket head screws (aka allen head) to secure the mid shaft housing to the bulk head?
2) Do you know the size/thread pitch/length so I can check mcmaster for them?

I am lacking a set, which is why I’m asking.

I use them, no issues... 8x1.25

25mm length should be fine and leave room fir washers unless you have blind holes

Or 20mm length looks good

OEM are plentiful and come with built in lock washers. But, some stainless off Mcmaster would work fine too.

I just look on ebay for yamaha midshaft hardware and for 7 bucks, it's easy.
