Super Jet Midshaft Leak Test?

I replaced my driveshaft before last season and the ski has been taking on water at a pretty rapid pace ever since. Used to be able to let it sit in the water all day and it was fine. When I put the driveshaft in, I had to pound on it pretty good to get it to go in (insert 'that's what she said' joke here).

My question is, is there any way to check/fix this without removing the driveshaft again? That was a total pain last season and I'd like to avoid it, if possible.

Thanks

The drive shaft should not be a pain to get in or out.
Pounding it in probably caused some damage. I would pull everything apart to inspect.

Damn, I was hoping someone wouldn't say that. :) Think I maybe had something in the splines that was causing it to get hung up?

should be pushed in with a press, not pounded in. may have boogered the seals.
also check the factory siphon "bilge pump".
they are bad for having the pinhole in the 90 clog up and then the flow water back into the ski
