Pressure check the engine, the 550's always had weak crankshaft seals. The front one was the worst. TIP: When re-doing a 550 with new crank seals, buy OEM only, and don't buy a front seal, buy 2 rear inner seals and use one for the front instead. This will give you a double lip seal for the front instead of the weak stock single lip seal that goes bad all the time.

well at first it was like it would never hit "powerband" and so we started to mess with the high speed screw and it got a little better till it finally wasnt good all around so then we started messing with the low end and it just got a lot worse. so we screwed them both all the way in and tried just working them from there and it ran better then ever but still hardly had enough power to plain off or whatever. so we are gonna pull the carb off this weekend and clean it and then i will check compression.. what should compressions be at? im new to this and supposedly this thing is modiefied but that guy could have told me anything i wouldnt know the difference. and the spark is deffintly good and we did put new spark plugs in.
