I ride a 1990 650sx. I've owned it for 10 years, and it has never given me problems. The ski is going to be 20 yrs old, and I was wondering if I should have something done to it? Its winterized every year, but other than that nothing has ever been done to it. is there something I should be doing?

I'm predicting 2 types of responses to this one:

1) "Ride it 'til something breaks, then fix it."

2) "With proper preventive and periodic maintenance, you'll likely never be swimming it in or unable to ride."

If you go w/ #2, I GUARANTEE you are going to be spending money as soon as you start looking. For some peace of mind, here's a few major things you could check (keep in mind I own yamahas though, so hopefully this applies the same):
- do a compression check
- do a leak down check
- lube mid-shaft or whatever bearing set up kawi's have.
- teardown, clean and rebuild the carb
- fuel filter
