Maiden voyage question

I’m about to take my new ski out and had a question. Dealer sent ski to me w full tank of gas. I don’t know what ratio they used. Break in says 25:1 first two tanks, then 50:1 after that. Is this critical? Thanks.

It should be oil rich at the outset, yes, but if you don’t know what they did, drain ~half to a new can and swap in some 25:1. Likewise, you’ll find a number of people that regularly mix to 35:1 or 40:1 ish instead of 50:1.

50:1 in 5 gal = 13 oz oil
25:1 in 5 gal = 26 oz oil.

if you just added 8 oz to the ~5 gal tank, you’d change it:
If it _was_ 50:1, it’s now 30:1
If it _was_ 25:1, it’s now 19:1

Just add 8oz and run it, is probably what I’d do.
