Swapping a 701 into a 90 SJ thats been sitting for 20 years. Need motor mounts fuel lines and filters. also need a carb for the 61x and flame arrestor, and a midshaft housing for the 701. Whos got this stuff for sale?
I read that with a 701 swap it has to be the newer midshaft housingYou have to use the original SN midshaft, not one of the larger ones from a later model. Just fyi.
Otherwise the obvious answer is @JetManiac
You have to use a midshaft housing that matches the hole pattern in the hull. If you have a proper midshaft assembly already, just rebuild it.I read that with a 701 swap it has to be the newer midshaft housing
Newer housing will not fit in a 90 SN. You have to use the smaller housing from the 90-93/94 SNI read that with a 701 swap it has to be the newer midshaft housing
I will do that over the winter, I want to get this out once or twice before it gets too cold here in MNSome unsolicited advice…
- When you have the hull stripped down bare, weigh it to see if it’s waterlogged.
- Send the midshaft to JetManiac for rebuild. Rebuild the pump, too.
- Switch to a handlepole off a roundnose, using either the pole bracket from High Speed, or a hazard bracket.
- If installing a B pipe, grind down the hull ribs that are right behind the chamber.
