Hi All,

I have a snag with my ebox. Seems like its leaking. The gasket was new, not sure whether the cap can leak as well? Anybody any opinions on good fix?

Should I tighten the ebox covers more??
This mositure is causing lack of spark sometimes with my EPIC...

Thank you

Steps to a dry ebox:
1. Use a new gasket everytime.
2. Use 1211 on both sides of the gasket
3. Use 1211 on each grommet, both where it contacts the box and where the wires go through.
4. Use thick grease on the cap, make sure the oring is in there
5. Don't overtighten the screws.

haha, old gasket with grease on everything here...no issues. I also started trying silica gel under the fuse holder cap just for giggles.

The oem grommets are way too loose. I mold my own grommets for my harnesses and the molds are blank so it would be easy enough to punch a smaller hole in them to make for a tighter fit if anyone is interested.

Install a grease fitting in the cover and pump the box full of dielectric compound. Problem solved.

As crazy as that sounds, it would actually work very well. Be a PITA if you ever had to change anything out but if water intrusion wasn't an issue anymore then when would you ever really need to go in there?

Years ago there a liquid being advertised for fire suppression that shared all the physical properties of water but was non conductive, non corrosive and non toxic. They completely submerged an operating laptop and it kept right on running. It could be an alternative to the grease while being a little more user friendly, easier to handle and reuseable. As long as it's insulating properties were higher than the coil output...

The stocker seals just fine if you do it right.
Making a billet part won't help sloppy assembly.

It did seal fine for a while, true. I think changes in temp make the gaskets expand/contract and maybe this is also a problem. Anyways another billet part for sale to the public would not hurt :)

Did you:
1. Use a new gasket
2. Use 1211 or similar sealant on both sides of the gasket and on the grommets
3. Not overtighten the screws

?

you guys use sealant and a new seal every time!!!?? thats crazy !!

make sure all the wires are in, line up all the holes with the rubber gasket, snug up all the screws, tighten in a pattern from center out (same as you would with a head) and then ride problem free

dont know what you guys have beem doing different unless there is a crack in the box i really dont see how the water is getting in?
