leaking fuel

i have a js 550 and fuel is leaking down the side of the tank and into the hull when ever i try to start it. Its where the fuel cap screws on. am i missing a gasket? has any one else had this happen?uppy_dog_eyes:

sounds like a bad or missing o-ring, or cracked return nipple on the tap.

do you know where i can get an o-ring?

try the wtb section or ace hardware.

check yours first to make sure that is the issue.

harbor freight has a o ring box you can buy it has like 3000 o rings for like 7 bucks from tiny too huge... you'll never need to buy an o ring again.... I figured this out because in that set is the o ring for a keg tap

there are no orings there on a 550.
if it's leaking by the fuel pickup then there is a FLAT rubber gasket that fits under the plastic pickup.
check for cracks everywhere as these tanks and pickups tend to dry out and leak.
