My lanyard keeps coming out randomly and is really annoying. Does anyone else have this problem or a solution to it? I don't want to use a zip tie. I heard the Kawasaki lanyards have thicker keys and they stay on better. Any thoughts?

your tether clip is probably worn out. i would get a new one. the aftermarkets are thicker, and really clip on good.

the kawi is actually bigger in diameter. you can run a yamaha on a kawi, and that is tighter. i don't think a kawi on a yamaha is better.

The slightly less-ghetto solution: go to Walmart and buy their universal lanyard. Comes with Yamaha, Kawi, and some other style keys.
The Kawi lanyard fits right on the Yamaha switch, but is thicker. So it should hold better.
I think the thing costs $10 or so.

It must be cool to be able to go to Walmart and get such things as bilges, 5200, lanyards, stainless steel anything metric, etc.

In Memphis, um . . . none of that.

Stainless steel metric, odd pitch sizes at Walmart? Dream on, Eyeball Tweaker.
Gotta go to Ace for that.

I go to Lowe's at Ace is like 20 minutes away, four-eyes.

Lowe's has SS Metric in maybe four bolts.

On that note, I have gotten to prefer OEM hardware over fancier McMaster stuff.
I had a bad experience with an allen-head bolt getting seized in my FPP manifold.

It would have been my assertion that FPP simply ordered their hardware from McM-C.

No? I guess.

I've never ordered a new Factory Pipe, but I don't believe that FPP ships bolts with their pipes.
They want you using OEM hardware, no?

If you wear it on your vest it will pull out and leave you with a powerless ski for much wave abuse.I like the Yamaha ones with the neoprene. Wear it just past the elbow so it will pull off the start/stop when you ghost ride it in those glory tube close outs.
