My buddy has an X2 with a 750sx motor in it and it has developed a very noticable vibration when it gets into the higher rpm range.
At first I blamed the new impeller in it which is a new to him / used skat trak 16 pitch. The pump we put it in is tight with new bearings. The impeller is very tight on the pump shaft. It does have a little extra clearance to the wear ring but it doesn't have any noticable cavitation issues when taking off hard. I don't know if cavitation could make it vibrate this bad at high rpms though.
I was planning on pulling the motor with him to see how the coupler looked and also to inspect the driveshaft bearings.
He use to run the pump I have in my 820 X2 until I repossed it this season since I finally got my X2 together. It was fine with that pump which is why I immidiately thought the impeller was the cause. I never knew impellers could be this out of balence though.
Anyone ideas where I should be lookng for vibrations like this? It is kind of scary.:worried:
