Kawasaki vs Yamaha steering pivot ball

Are the Steering plate and Nozzle pivot balls the same diameter on a Kawasaki and Yamaha? I wanna drill out my 550 nozzle plate and move the ball so I have a little more nozzle movement but the Kawi 550 threads are too short to fit through the plate because it was threaded into an insert. I need the threads to be longer so I can put a nut on the bottom. Looks like Yamaha nozzles Have a pivot ball with threads that are longer. If the ball is the same I was thinking about using the longer Yamaha one on my Kawi .
thanks

Here is a pic of a Yamaha 1st pic and a Kawasaki 2nd pic red background pivot ball. See how the threaded shaft on the Yamaha is longer. Ball is a little different shape too but wasn’t sure if they were compatible.
thanks

Bastardude, is the plastic strong enough to hold up ? Figured I’d need an insert? Let me know. Also ...any idea What the threads Are on the Kawi pivot stud? Thanks,

Your saying just drill and tap the plastic correct?

Yamaha, and Kawasaki are different.

I would NOT just drill and tap the plastic.

Use the longer Yamaha one, and switch out the cable end to a matching Yamaha one.
