Just got an 05 RM250

I used to have a 98 rm250 and now after a few years i have decided to get back in to MX. Does any one have any recomendations on the 2t oil for the rm. I figured since the rm and the yz are nearly the same in the engine compartment i can safely use the yamalube??? Also what do u guys use for the transmission oil?

Cant wait to get out there and ride. Ski is getting built so no water sports till the spring.

I use Amsoil dominator or Klotz R50 for 2t oil, depending on which I can find at whatever store I go to. Yamalube is very good oil, and you will have no problems using it in your zuk.

For transmission oil, I use Shell Rotella T 15w40. I change it every 2 rides. It only costs about 9 bucks a gallon, and you can get it anywhere oil is sold. Many, many people swear by it. I even run it in my Rover to help keep the engine clean.

Prior to that, I used to use Honda 85/90, but it's about 8-10 bucks a QUART, and I like to change the tranny oil frequently, no matter what I use, so that gets expensive fast.

i use amsoil or ipone in everything i own they are the best ipone is my fav. for 2 strokes cause when you tear them down you can tell cause everything has a nice tint of the oil and the power valves as clean as a whistle
but in 4 stroke and everything else gotta do the amsoil they are very comparible to ipone

Even if it is more expensive, use the best oil you can get, it is cheap insurance. You can use any reputable brand for pre-mix oil(yamalube,amsoil,klotz,silkolene,belray,HP2), it's a 250 so you can use semi-synthetic no problem your not revving as high as a 125. In the tranny use a two stroke trans oil in it, like bel ray gear saver 75w is a good trans oil, maxima is a good oil, and if you really needed to you can use automatic transmission fluid but if you do use it you have to change it every ride cause it breaks down a lot faster than the the two stroke trans oils.

i just got back in to riding, but i used to ride at englishtown, poconos, and there is this one spot arond belmar right of 195. A huge sand quary with just so much ******** its unbelivable. Also i know there is this one track that u cn see on jersey turnpike right when you about to drive in to PA over the bridge. Its on the left side if ure driving to PA in the woods right after the toll before that bridge. I stoped by there one time and there was a few guys riding, but they said its their private track that they are working on getting public. Any areas around jersey you can recomend. I got a few friends i ride with so maybe we can all meet up sometime. I am slowly putting them all onto SJ's and one just got a SN.
