300/440/550 js550 with 440 pump

so i was goin over one of our js550s with my dad that he got from his friend back in the 90s and he was saying that one of the skis has a 440 pump with a stainless prop because it made it go faster... does neone have any insight as to if this is true or not and how i will tell if it is actually a 440 pump?

ne help would be great

440 pump has the impeller attached to the drive shaft and the 440 pump is sposed to be better for top end but its still arguable a friend of mine gps'd his ski with a 440 pump then put a 550 pump n it same impeller pitch and it was 3 mph faster top end but idk how accurate that experiment was
i run all 440 pumps what i go by is 550=bottom end and 440=top, but there are others who will tell you in wrong

With plenty of rpms yes it is faster, but for 99% of the riding that most of us do you will be better off with a 550 pump.
