Getting into the sport, but have a couple questions... One, when I replace the hydroturf, do I need an extra layer of padding under the bottom piece of turf on the ski? If so, where can I get a piece fairly cheaply? Second, is the bumper really needed or could I get away with going without one for now, since I am just learning to ride? Any input would be great. Thanks!

when you replace the hydro turf use some contact cement and a yoga mat. then when you want foot holds you don't feel bad about tearing up the yoga matting compared to the 60$ turf sold by the sheet.

you don't need the bumper unless its duck/ goose season...

make some foot straps out of anything you can find and ride as much as you can. the more you ride the more you learn. :woot:
