JS 550 Winter fun project ...sneak preview

Well besides other projects ( pics and other will follow ) I had a 550 fun-project which I attended during slow-time and especially while waiting for other SJ parts. The projects goals >> to keep the budget very very low and learn to Fiberglass and also create a one of a kind ski....

This is my first experience with Epoxy-Resin-Fiberglass work so bare wit my abilities ( I am an engine mechanic ).

The hood has custom air intake scoops built strong/wide enough to be handholds at the same time + additional custom Handholds.( louie you should make a mold :0).

Also installed Waterdawg footholds which fit perfectly.

Further plans are to create a dual front exhaust therefor will have to weld a T-pipe.

Engine has not finalized yet ...we will be surprised...I hope :0).

I will keep the pics coming as I go but update times will be slow due to other projects in the make..

Thank you

Chris

Looks like it is going to be a fun build. I love the old 550s, they are so much fun to mess around on. My 550, which I still have, is the ski I learned to ride on. I bought a SJ last September and now the 550 has to go. I sure wish I could keep it, but don't have the room or money for both.

Can't wait to see your build. Are you thinking a 650 conversion for the motor?
