I just picked up a 77 JS 400.
It has a stop switch on the throttle side of the handle bars but no start switch.
There are two wires that are cut off and mounted on the bottom of the turn plate that I'm assuming were to the original start button.
Will connecting these wires together simulate pressing the start button?
I have tried this without any luck. Not getting a click or anything.
I have the ebox apart and jumped the starter relay and the engine turns over so the power and ground cables are good.
Is the silver component shown in the picture with the relay a voltage regulator?
Is there any way to test the relay besides jumping it?
