I just got a job offer to move from Northern Alberta, Canada to Allendale, South Carolina. Anybody know the area and what it may have to offer for riding spots? I'm supposed to go down in a couple of days to check it out but If I can't go riding then I don't think I could move there. I don't mind selling my sleds but my skis are way too important to let go of.

I guess the Savannah river is close. I've been riding swamps for the last 7 years so the quality of water isn't a big thing I was more wondering about crocs, snakes, and such.

I know Beaufort SC, and Savannah GA aren't too far from you, good surf out there if you're going to ride saltwater. As for lakes, prolly a hour or more drive to get to the nearest lake down there. Allendale is kinda out there in the middle of nowhere. Driven through it a couple times, took all of 5 to 10mins at the most.

Looks like a tiny little town; like one redlight size. Hope you enjoy rednecks, biting insects, and 95% humidity. Alligators & snakes, guaranteed.
At least its daytrip distance (2hrs each way) from the surf to either Charleston, SC area or Tybee Island, GA to ride with us.

Around here we load up our sleds and drive 4 hours to ride deep powder for the day so 2 hrs to get to ride surf woudl be great. I'm a flatwater guy so you guys would have to break me in.
I was thinking about buying a nice lightweight superjet hull and building a sweet ski, never thought it could be a surf boat.
