Jetting for a B-Pipe Mod chamber

I have a stock 05 sj. I am going to be getting a B-Pipe Mod chamber for it.

I am sending my carbs to JSS for cap removal/install adjusters. I also want to order my jets at the same time for rejeting for the mod b pipe.

Is the only jet I should change on a 100% stock motor the high speed...from 130 to 135. Thats what they reccomend for the limited chamber.

Thanks
Brian

I'm running a limited bpipe, ada head(35cc), carbon tech low tension reeds, stock 38's(Choke Plates removed and 2 screens removed from stock flame arrestors) and these are my current specs:

135 Mains
75 Pilots (Switching to 72.5's)
95g springs
stock n&s

and the screw settings that FP recommends.

I am very happy with the throttle response it has now, but I think with a little more tuning I can get some more out of it. Right now it has a very slight occasional bog when I hit it very hard off idle, but most people wouldn't even notice it. I'm going to switch to 72.5's and adjust the low and high speed screws and see if I can clean it up a little.

I'd say you would be ok with 135 mains and 70 pilots, but just make sure you have the 95g springs(the silver ones). Newer sj's come with the gold ones.

I'm also very new to carb tuning, but I have an idetical setup to you and I have done a ton of research so I just thought I would share my experience:biggthumpup:

Thanks, I may run the Limited Chamber instead............

Yeah the limited chamber is a little bit tighter of a fit, but you can make it work. I chose the limited because after reading tons of threads it seemed like most people said the limited had better bottom end on a limited motor. Personally I dont think you could ever tell the difference between the two.

I take it you haven't installed the pipe yet. I just got mine all squared away so let me give you a few tips of advice:

1. More than likely the chamber will rub on the ribs, cases, and gas tank. This is what I did to correct each problem.

- I grinded down the ribs so the pipe wouldn't rub on them.

- I grinded down the cases near the motor mount and I put 3 sheets of turf underneath the waterbox to raise the stinger end of the exhaust which raised the pipe away from the cases.

- I also took some leftover silicon from the elbox hose (after shortening the elbow hose which you will probably have to do) and epoxied it to the gas tank where the pipe was almost touching. This will keep the pipe from melting the gas tank if the pipe gets close to the gas tank.

2. Mount the chamber and headpipe to the coupler hose the night before to stretch out the coupler hose. (Use plenty of windex during the install!!!)

3. Install the chamber first! My buddies directions said to install the headpipe first and my directions said to install the chamber first. We found it was much easier to install the chamber first then the headpipe will just slide into the coupler and mount to the exhaust manifold.

4. Be sure and flush out the exhaust manifold really well. Metal shavings leftover from the manufacturing of my exhaust manifold clogged in the T after the initial ride and caused my hoses to melt and pop off almost sinking my ski.:banghead:

Anyways I hope that helps:biggthumpup: Have fun and good luck.
