I bought a used jetinetics flywheel for a 2001 superjet off ebay, and when I recieved it, it looks like the flywheel hub was seperated from the flywheel at one time because the bolts had like a redish rtv on them??? I didnt think anything of it at the time. So now I get my ski all back together and tried to fire it up, but all I get is backfiring, My question is, when you dissasseble the flywheel if you could put it together wrong, like mounting the key way in a different area on the flywheel, and will that mess with the timing at all??, If so how do you realign the hub to the flywheel in the correct spot?

Yes, this would mess up the timing because you are moving the key in relationship to the magnets. Try taking it apart and looking for some alignment marks, if I were making a flywheel like this I would have machined a mark on each piece to help with assembly, Other than this I think its trial and error with a timing light. You have to move the centre hub a long way to line up with the next hole so the timing will either be right or very wrong, you won't get it just a bit out.
