Other is this what a "creased" diaphragm looks like?

I've had some trouble with getting my carbs tuned correctly. I'm assuming my troubles came from my exhaust tube blocking the diaphragm vent. I decided to check my carb settings and found the diaphragms stuck to the cover and with "creases" or indentions around the perimeter (at 3,6,9,12 oclock posn.). Check the pics and let me know what you think. Would the exhaust tube blocking the vent cause the denting/creasing or could it encourage the diaphragm to become stuck to the cover? The backside of the diaphragms looks smooth except where the dents are on the perimeter.

I've never heard of or seen that diaphram get greased. Usually they're talkinga bout the other side of the carb (the fuel pump side). there are 2 clear disks. if they get creased they don't pump gas anymore.

Paul at LPW drilled new holes in the carb backing plate because the exhaust could cover the holes.
