Other Intermittent Spark Problem

Have a BOB gen 3 sitting here fixing it for a buddy. We rode it 3 days ago. Went to ride today. No spark. New plugs. Nothing still. Tore apart ebox. It's running an MSD enhancer. All grounds are good in ebox and no corossion. Put a pos BR8ES I had. Sparked fine. Put his new plugs in. Nothing. Tried my plugs from a perfect running ski. No spark. So OK. Whatever I put two crappy plugs in. No start. Took em out. No spark again. Put new plugs in. Spark.....? And its a decent spark. Put them in no start. Took them out and once cylinder sparks but still no fire. What is going on? Stator issues possibility?

I had the same problem with mine and my MSD looked great.. Got rid of that POS and put a stock one in it and it was fine. The MSD's sometimes randomly go out and it sucks. did you try clipping the coil wires just in case or even looking at them to see if they are old and bad?

Alright thanks I will try a stock one when I get it. A friend of mine is sending me one. coil wires looked great to me. But yes I should clip them

Did you try disconnecting black n white wires for the stop circuit at electrical box ?

Most likely MSD had one on a buddy's ski that would only spark for a split second when you released start button.

i shipped owen a epic cdi, a coil, and a stator. correct me wrong but there is only 3 things it can be correct? I have had every spark issue in the world im sure but this one seems funky.

Had a very similar issue with my ski recently. Mine was the MSD enhancer gone bad. Tried a friends stock cdi and the spark was back.

When the MSD sparks when you release the start button, you have the two white wires crossed...

I had the same problem. Took quite a while to figure that one out.

First thing to do is put a stock cdi back in and see if it works, msd and epic are never going to be as reliable as stock so always keep a spare.

Coil or CDI.
Stator would likely make the ski run erratic.
But that's just my 2 cents
