installing a primer

removing the choke butterfly and rod is the hardest part that I can remember.

otherwise it is very straight forward.

the screws that hold the choke butterfly onto the pivot shaft are deformed, they DO NOT want to unscrew, sometimes you can though.
generally it is easier to grind them off from the backside and unscrew.

then tap the shaft out and put the plug on one side of the carb, and the primer nipple on the other. they should press in solid enough to stay, don't beat on them too much.

thats all Ive got for now from memory....

If you stick the right sized screw driver into those screws, and firmly hit the screwdriver with a small hammer a few times... they often break right loose

You should have a brass insert with a nipple, and a brass insert that is a plug. After you get the choke shaft out, you will need to press those in the holes that the choke shaft was in. If you leave it on the ski, I would recommend you stuff the carb throat with a paper towel or two before you even start.

And remember, don't use a philips screwdriver that is too big or too small.... stripping those screws that hold the butterfly on will lengthen this install by a considerable amount.

i think you are probably missing a few pieces. you should have 2 brass plugs one solid and one has a 1/8 barbed nipple. thats where the fuel line will go. you will also need a 1/4 to 1/8 barbed tee for the fuel line.

edit: looks like kennay beat me to it. is this single or dual carbs??

some intake manifolds have a nipplle for oil injection. if you disable the oil injection and run premix, you can put the primer pump output right there on that nipple.

You will need a few more parts.

A barb fitting for the carb,
a plug for the other side of where the choke shaft used to be,
a T-fitting to splice into your fuel line (I prefer using the return line with a trap but others will argue),
and some more hose.

ive used epoxy to plug the whole in the carb before instead of the brass plug, and the TEE can be had from a local autoparts store... look for a vacum hose tee.
