Personally, I have not.

I have had machines come into my shop though with these installed. (Sit downs). Take it a part, and clean it. Maybe you have sucked up some sand? You can also remove the screen and try without to see if you still overheat.

You need to run it into the line going to your sprayer and not on your main cooling line. If you are not running a sprayer I would not run the filter at all.

It’s in the main waterline as there’s a lot of poop where I run as it’s fairly shallow

Have you had issues with plugging up your cooling system? And what exhaust are you running? You can T off the water line and run the filter on the side of the T going to the exhaust and the non-filtered side going to the head.

Might Run ski stapes on the trailer And backed into water with hood off and see if you have any leaks from the filter cover oring or see anything else..

Pending that, remove the valve like Quinc mentioned...

I have never worked with one of those. but I did run ECWI back when I raced my SJ. The valve would clog all the time, These were the solutions. That said, Is there a direction or flow direction arrow on it? Could you have it backwards if there is......... The idea is the water come in to the lower bowl and the screen catches the larger debris, Now, Sand and silt may can pass through (That could be an issue). If you have this reversed, you could be dumping trash on top of the screen blocking the flow, your bowl may show clean water but you could be restricting your flow this way.

Could also get the sea-doo self cleaning water filter.

Edit: Factory pipe made these self cleaning filters for the seadoo exhaust.

I ran the same filter the OP showed on my 650SX for years back in the day for surf and never had an issue but I cleaned it after every ride. Lots of seaweed and sand.
