Has anyone used one of these on there sj as I’ve just installed one but now the engine is running very hot https://www.google.co.uk/aclk?sa=l&...wim7a_20PvnAhUXiFwKHZjQBA0Qwg96BAgLEBM&adurl=
Just installed it was fine before so I don’t knowPersonally, I have not.
I have had machines come into my shop though with these installed. (Sit downs). Take it a part, and clean it. Maybe you have sucked up some sand? You can also remove the screen and try without to see if you still overheat.
It’s in the main waterline as there’s a lot of poop where I run as it’s fairly shallowYou need to run it into the line going to your sprayer and not on your main cooling line. If you are not running a sprayer I would not run the filter at all.
SorryWatch your mouth young man!

Haven’t had problems just preventative and stock exhaust for now till my bpipe comesHave you had issues with plugging up your cooling system? And what exhaust are you running? You can T off the water line and run the filter on the side of the T going to the exhaust and the non-filtered side going to the head.
Probably will if it still gets hot until I get my bpipe and run dual coolingI would take it off.
Arrow pointing towards the skiI have never worked with one of those. but I did run ECWI back when I raced my SJ. The valve would clog all the time, These were the solutions. That said, Is there a direction or flow direction arrow on it? Could you have it backwards if there is......... The idea is the water come in to the lower bowl and the screen catches the larger debris, Now, Sand and silt may can pass through (That could be an issue). If you have this reversed, you could be dumping trash on top of the screen blocking the flow, your bowl may show clean water but you could be restricting your flow this way.
I ran the same filter the OP showed on my 650SX for years back in the day for surf and never had an issue but I cleaned it after every ride. Lots of seaweed and sand.[/QUOTE
Did you have the bowl at the top or bottom
