Info on Installation of footholds?

Am I the only one who followed the link cause I suspected that Sanoman was who actually made the how-to tutorial....like a loooooong time ago and maybe forgot.

More peeps need to look that thread over.Just torn into another returf job.To start,the footholds were really thin,so when l started sanding the tray and sides down,l went right thru the hold.Again no glass strips over the holds to reinforce them.
Spend the extra time and materials and do them right the first time

Nice turf job... is that a Vision
Yes it is a Vision
The vision footholds are recessed and the customer didn’t like the way the tray was and asked for a deck that was virtually flat.Also,he wanted a surf kick.That posed a problem,how to keep the holds deep enough and still allow enough room for your feet to fit and build up the rear of the tray.l ended up having to choose what (thickness) padding and do a lot of shaving to form up the deck.As a side note,l think this is where part of the secret lies in creating what you want it to look like as a finished product.
Whoever originally installed the holds did not go through the steps for a good install.The holds themselves were paper thin.So when l got the old turf off and started sanding,l want right thru the fiberglass and into the sides of the tray.l had to go back over the holds with some carbon tape to reinforce them.
The angles @MarkWalker not so bad.Seems like after doing several SF’s,you can turf anything!
