I tried asking on PWCtoday(mostly because X-H2O is blocked at work) and never got a response so I figured I'd try it here...
I bought my ski used mid summer and it has a factory pipe, K&N flame arrestor, with a few hull mods. The guy before me put a 15-20 SS impeller in it. Based on my research, this appears higher pitched than stock. Most things I've seen have said to go down in pitch from stock...usually a 9-17 is what I've seen most people recommend and rave about.
I would imagine this current prop is not only limiting my top speed because the engine can't spin that prop all the way up but also my bottom end pretty significantly.
My question is do you think going to a 9-17 is going to produce a noticeable gain? If so, can a 15-20 be repitched to a 9-17 or is that too drastic of a change?
